A recent survey commissioned by American Express found that older millennials are busier than ever, and they currently value their time more than money (54%). In fact, 75% of older millennials prefer to stay in more than they did 5 years ago, and during nights in, the most popular activities include watching TV (68%), movie nights (50%), cookouts (43%) and dinner parties (36%)*.

Known for hosting her family and friends for streaming parties (complete with themed menus), Kristen Bell has partnered with American Express to celebrate the newly refreshed Blue Cash Preferred Card, which features 6% Cash Back on select U.S. streaming services and 6% cash back on U.S. supermarkets (on up to $6,000 in purchases). To help others host their own “Perfect Night In,” Kristen has shared her go-to recipe as part of the partnership.

According to the same survey, the everyday routine of older Millennials has changed too. In addition to their newfound love of staying in, 91% noted they are spending more on their day-to-day compared to five years ago. This includes 67% more on groceries, 36% more on streaming and 34% more on commuting. They are also prioritizing their everyday spend differently based on their lifestyle and new routine.

*METHODOLOGY The Amex Older Millennials Survey was conducted by Wakefield Research (www.wakefieldresearch.com) 1,000 nationally representative U.S. adults, ages 31-38 between April 2 and April 8, 2019, using an email invitation and an online survey. Quotas have been set to ensure reliable and accurate representation of the U.S. adult population ages 31-38.
