ICYMI: Tour the World with Amex’s July 2023 Experiences

July was a packed month for American Express Card Members in cities around the world:

  • London: Card Members joined the excitement of Wimbledon and fandom of Blackpink at the ‘Born Pink’ pop-up experience.
  • Paris: Card Members moved to the music of top performances at Lollapalooza Paris.
  • Australia: Card Members joined an exclusive ‘Amex Afters’ party following Lizzo’s concert in Sydney.
  • U.S.: Amex offered Card Member experiences such as pink carpet access to the premiere of the new Barbie movie and a Pilates class at NYC’s Brooklyn Museum.

U.K.: Wimbledon, The Championships 2023

American Express returned to Wimbledon for The Championships 2023, creating memorable onsite experiences for tennis fans. Card Members stopped by the American Express Fan Experience to participate in interactive games including “Find Andy” featuring hometown hero Andy Murray and “Fortnite: Race to Wimbledon.” In the American Express Card Member Lounge, bespoke cocktails were served, and a selection of Ralph Lauren’s customizable Wimbledon 2023 designs were available for purchase.

New York: Brighton & Hove Albion Tour

To help fans welcome English football team Brighton & Hove Albion to the U.S. as part of the inaugural Premier League Summer Series, American Express created an experience to get fans excited for the club’s New Jersey match. Fans could enter The American Express 1901 Pub, located at the Oculus Beer Garden, to partake in refreshments, pub games, photo opps and giveaways. The team, sponsored by Amex, also played matches in Philadelphia and Atlanta throughout the month.

France: 2023 Lollapalooza Paris

As a sponsor of the 2023 Lollapalooza Paris Edition, one of France’s most anticipated music festivals, AIR FRANCE KLM – AMERICAN EXPRESS Card Members enjoyed exclusive onsite experiences. Access to Lolla Chef - the festival's food and beverage area featuring renowned chefs Jean Imbert, Alain Ducasse, Mory Sacko, Stéphanie Le Quellec, Cédric Grolet and others - was among the most popular features. Card Members could use a “fast track” lane to order their favorite meal to enjoy at Amex’s private terrace.

California: Barbie Premiere

The world premiere of “Barbie” in Los Angeles recreated Barbie Land - and Card Members were invited inside with exclusive VIP access. Following a special cocktail party, Card Members stepped onto the pink, star-studded carpet and were able to check out an immersive Barbie's Dreamhouse experience and participate in a meet-and-greet with the film’s director, Greta Gerwig, before an exclusive viewing of the movie. Card Members were also invited to attend an after party with some of the cast to close out the night.

California: 2023 U.S. Women’s Open

American Express worked with some of the top golfers in the tournament to sport logos from their favorite local small businesses. Card Members could also shop for their own golf merchandise from Los Angeles-based brand Malbon with access to exclusive styles from their first-ever women’s collection, available in-store and online.

Las Vegas: 2023 WNBA All-Star

To celebrate one of the most exciting events in women’s basketball, fans and Card Members were able to check out The American Express WNBA All-Star Experience in Las Vegas. Guests could shoot their shot at the 60 Second Challenge where fans beat a score set by WNBA All-Star and New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu. Off the court, guests could hang out at a locker room-themed lounge. Fans also had the opportunity to meet Ionescu and fellow WNBA All-Star starter Jackie Young.

London: BLACKPINK ‘Born Pink’ Pop-up Experience, Presented by American Express

To celebrate the Born Pink Tour, American Express teamed up with BLACKPINK to create an immersive pop-up experience in London. Card Members visiting the pop-up, designed by Japanese graphic artist VERDY, could purchase limited-edition merchandise and capture special photos amid the pink-lit space. The pop-up series will arrive in NYC and Los Angeles this August.

Australia: Amex Afters Party

American Express Australia Card Members attended an exclusive Amex Afters party for a lively night out in Sydney. Taking place in the Amex Entertainment Lounge, Card Members enjoyed an intimate performance by singer Tkay Maidza while enjoying complimentary refreshments, pop-up merchandise and special photo moments.

Colorado: Prada in Aspen

Invited Card Members joined an exclusive summer adventure in Aspen, curated by the iconic fashion house, Prada. Throughout the week, Card Members escaped to the mountains for a “Cook the Mountain” excursion, dinner with Michelin-starred Chef Norbert Niederkofler, a private tour of the Aspen Art Museum, and a special shopping experience at Prada Aspen.

New York: Amex Gold Card Presents: Momofuku Ko on Tour, powered by Resy

American Express Gold Card Members in NYC received first access to a special pop-up dining series created by 2 Michelin-starred restaurant Momofuku Ko. Card Members enjoyed classic dishes from Momofuku Ko and an exclusive collaborative dish created with HAGS restaurant. The experience will continue to take place throughout the summer in partnership with local restaurants in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Miami.

New York: Pilates Fusion at Brooklyn Museum

As part of the Equinox x American Express Platinum Series, Card Members joined an unforgettable evening of Pilates and sound bath meditation at the Brooklyn Museum, participating in a guided class while surrounded by the museum’s stunning artwork.
