For actress and producer, Issa Rae, traveling the world is top of mind for 2023 – and she relies on a great itinerary. She teamed up with American Express Travel to create an ideal plan to travel to her favorite city: Paris, France.
Paris is one of Amex’s recently released 2023 Trending Destinations.* The three-day itinerary, created with American Express Travel Consultants, features some of Rae’s favorite places to eat, shop and explore the local culture. “I have a lot of family members and friends that live in France, and Paris is a big city so there are always new places to try,” she says.
She adds, “I plan my travel around food. When I think about my favorite travel memories, they are centered around amazing meals I’ve had around the world.”

A few favorite restaurants on the itinerary include Michelin-star restaurant Frenchie, helmed by chef Grégory Marchand, offering a “carte blanche” menu; La Crêperie which serves crepes and galettes hot off the griddle; and Le Restaurant OKUDA where cuisine is prepared in the “omakase” tradition of the chef’s choice and the menu changes daily.
