American Express Helps Tennis Fans Create Unforgettable Memories At Wimbledon 2022

American Express continues its fourth year in partnership with The Championships, with two-time Wimbledon Champion, Andy Murray as American Express Tennis Ambassador

  Range of on-site activities for visitors include an immersive Fan Experience, located in the Southern Village, with two new interactive games, a bespoke nail bar, exclusive Cardmember Lounge, and surprise and delight moments for fans in The Queue

American Express, Official Payment Partner of The Championships, today announced its plans to welcome back tennis fans next week. The partnership with the All England Club – now in its fourth year – will bring a host of experiences to help fans create unforgettable memories.

The American Express Fan Experience, an on-site activation located in the Southern Village, will help all tennis fans get a taste of what makes Wimbledon so unique and memorable. Sir Andy Murray OBE, two-time Wimbledon Champion and American Express Ambassador has helped design two enthralling new interactive games within the Fan Experience – “Find Andy” and “Centre Court Challenge” – that allow fans to get involved in the action from the side-lines. In addition, American Express has teamed-up with renowned nail artist Michelle Humphrey to design limited edition nail art representing the most memorable moments at Wimbledon. Also, fans can access trainer cleaning, in partnership with Jason Markk products.

All American Express® Cardmembers can enhance their onsite experience even further with access to a dedicated Cardmember Lounge, complimentary in-ear radios featuring a live broadcast of Centre Court, No.1 Court and the Wimbledon Radio Channel.1 They will have the opportunity to receive a one-time statement credit of £20 when they spend £120 or more on their American Express® Card, onsite across the Grounds2 and be able to enjoy an exclusive 20% discount at The Official Wimbledon Online Shop throughout The Championships.3

Highlights of the American Express experience for Wimbledon 2022 include:

AMERICAN EXPRESS FAN EXPERIENCE


The physical American Express Fan Experience is back for 2022, to give them a taste of the on-court action, including two interactive games. First, there’s “Find Andy” which challenges fans’ attention-to-detail as they try to find Andy Murray in amongst a giant artwork of the Grounds. Fans can also test their accuracy under pressure with the “Centre Court Challenge”, where two to four competing fans are challenged to roll physical tennis balls as accurately as possible to hit an on-screen target. The more accurate the roll, the more points you score.

Located within the Fan Experience and open to all, American Express has teamed up with renowned nail artist Michelle Humphrey to create an on-trend nail bar offering four limited edition designs: strawberries and cream, a tennis ball and tennis net plus the famous Wimbledon purple and green colours. The designs celebrate Wimbledon’s iconic style and help keep the memories ‘close to hand’ so they last long after fans’ time on-site. As part of his partnership with American Express, Andy Murray collaborated with Michelle, helping inspire some of the designs that capture his, and fans’ best Wimbledon memories.

The Fan Experience is open from 10am – 7pm on each day of The Championships.


AMERICAN EXPRESS® CARDMEMBER LOUNGE 

The American Express Cardmember Lounge will offer all American Express Cardmembers a unique place to relax during the day at The Championships. With a private outdoor terrace access, it will be a comfortable and exclusive space for tennis loving Cardmembers and guests to unwind between matches. A variety of drinks will be available, along with a range of delicious sweet and savoury snacks available for purchase with an American Express Card.

This year, American Express has partnered with Sipsmith to give Cardmembers and their guests exclusive access to a bespoke Sipsmith menu, served from their copper gin trike. To gain entry, Cardmembers should head to the Lounge located between Courts 3 and 12 to take advantage of the space. Access is provided on a first come, first served basis, subject to capacity. Cardmembers may obtain access by showing any valid American Express Card, and enter with up to two guests. The Cardmember lounge is open 10:30am - 7pm with last entry at 6:30pm.


AMERICAN EXPRESS COMPLIMENTARY RADIOS

Once again, this year, American Express is offering its hugely popular complimentary in-ear radios exclusively for Cardmembers, to bring them closer to all the on-court action. Fans will be able to tune-in to live commentary across the three official Wimbledon channels. The radios will be available from the American Express mobile kiosks across the Grounds and at Wimbledon and Southfields stations, as well as from a Flower Cart at Bathgate Road. This year, Cardmembers will have the option to hand their radios back to Amex Brand Ambassadors at the end of their day, to be returned to the supplier and recycled.


THE QUEUE

With the return of The Queue in 2022, fans waiting to enter the Grounds will have the opportunity to receive surprises, courtesy of American Express. This will include the popular “Chair of Champions” – a Wimbledon inspired photo moment and giveaways. American Express branded radios will be distributed to Cardmembers from the flower cart at Bathgate Road. 

THE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023 PRESALE

American Express Cardmembers, can also receive early access to exclusive hospitality tickets for The Championships, 2023. All they have to do is use their American Express Card to book an official hospitality experience which includes reserved seats at Centre Court or No. 1 Court, and award-winning hospitality from Wimbledon’s Official Hospitality partner, Keith Prowse. Packages are available for each day of The Championships from Monday 3 July to Sunday 16 July 2023. Limited availability.
