American Express Introduces Special Offer for the Blue Cash Everyday® Card Up to $300 Cash Back with Welcome Offer and Wireless Promotion for New Card Members
NEW YORK,  March 17, 2016 -- 

American Express today announced a new special offer for the Blue Cash Everyday® Card featuring an extra cash back incentive for new Card Members who make purchases at U.S. Wireless Telephone Service Providers with the Card.

New Card Members will have the opportunity to earn up to $300 cash back, including 10% on purchases at U.S. Wireless Telephone Service Providers up to $200 through the end of 2016.

  • New Card Members who apply by June 15, 2016 can earn up to $200 cash back in the form of statement credits with the new offer that rewards them with 10% cash back on the first $2,000 spent at U.S. Wireless Telephone Service Providers through December 31, 2016. (1)

  • Additionally, new Card Members will also earn $100 cash back in the form of a statement credit after spending $1,000 in purchases within the first three months of Card Membership. (1)

The no annual fee (2) Blue Cash Everyday Card from American Express offers Card Members 3% cash back at U.S. supermarkets, on up to $6,000 per year in purchases (then 1%); 2% cash back at U.S. gas stations; 2% cash back at select U.S. department stores; and 1% cash back on other purchases. Cash back is received in the form of Reward Dollars that can be redeemed as a statement credit. (3)

Terms and Conditions

(1) $100 Welcome Bonus

To qualify for the $100 statement credit, you must make purchases with your Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express that total $1,000 or more within your first three months of Card Membership starting from the date your account is approved. In rare instances, your period to spend $1,000 may be shorter than three months if there is a delay in receiving your Card. Also, purchases may fall outside of the three month period in some cases, such as a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction. (For example, if you buy goods online, the purchase date may be the date the goods are shipped.) The statement credit will be applied 6-8 weeks after the spend requirement is met. Qualifying purchases can be made by the Basic Card Member and any Additional Card Members on a single Card Account. Purchases to meet the spend requirement do NOT include fees or interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, purchases of traveler's checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of any cash equivalents. Additional Card Members on your account are not eligible for this offer. To receive the $100 statement credit, your Card account must be active, in good standing, and not in default at the time the statement credit is posted to your Card account. American Express reserves the right to modify or revoke offer at any time.

10% Promotional Offer

When you apply by 6/15/2016, you get 10% back at US Wireless Telephone Service Providers as statement credits, on the first $2,000 in purchases made on the Card Account from the date your account is approved through 12/31/2016 (up to $200 back). Purchases may fall outside of this period in some cases, such as a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction. (For example, if you buy goods online, the purchase date may be the date the goods are shipped.) Purchases from third parties and resellers are excluded. Merchants are assigned codes based on what they primarily sell. You will not get 10% back if the merchant’s code is not eligible. You may not get 10% back on purchases made through a third-party payment account, at an online marketplace, or using a mobile card reader.

The cash back you get for this Promotional Offer is in addition to any rewards you may get from using your Card Account. Cash back is received in the form of statement credits and will appear on your monthly billing statement within 6-8 weeks after you make a qualifying purchase.

If your application is not received by 6/15/2016, you will not be eligible for the 10% Promotional Offer even if your application is approved. To receive 10% back, your Card account must be active, in good standing, and not in default at the time a statement credit is posted to your Card account. American Express reserves the right to modify or revoke the Promotional Offer at any time.

(2) No Annual Fee

APR on purchases will vary based on the Prime Rate, currently 13.24% to 23.24%, based on your creditworthiness and other factors. The following APRs also vary based on the Prime Rate and will be determined based on your creditworthiness and other factors at account opening. APR for Balance Transfers requested within 30 days of account opening: 13.24% to 23.24%; APR for Cash Advances: 25.49%, Penalty APR 29.49%. Variable rates accurate as of 03/16/2016. Cash Advance Fee: the greater of $5 or 3% of the amount of each cash advance. Balance Transfer Fee: The greater of $5 or 3% of the amount of each transfer. Foreign Transaction Fee: 2.7% of each transaction after conversion to USD.

(3) Cash Back Program

You will receive cash back only on eligible purchases and in the form of Blue Cash Reward Dollars (reward dollars). You can redeem reward dollars for statement credits in increments of 25 whenever your available reward dollars balance is 25 or more. You cannot use cash back to pay your Minimum Due. The number of reward dollars you receive is based on a percentage of the dollar amount of your eligible purchases during each billing period. From time to time we may at our option offer you other ways to redeem reward dollars, such as for gift cards or merchandise.

Eligible purchases are purchases for goods and services minus returns and other credits. Eligible purchases do NOT include fees or interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, purchases of travelers checks, purchases or reloading of prepaid cards, or purchases of other cash equivalents.

An annual reward year is 12 billing periods in a row beginning with the one that includes January 1st; if your billing cycle changes, the length of your annual reward year will also change.

You will receive a reward of 3% on the first $6,000 of eligible purchases in an annual reward year at supermarkets located in the U.S. (superstores and warehouse clubs are not considered supermarkets); 2% on eligible purchases of gasoline at gas stations located in the U.S. (superstores, supermarkets and warehouse clubs that sell gasoline are not considered gas stations); 2% on eligible purchases at select department stores located in the U.S. (the current list of select major department stores at which you can receive a 2% reward is available at americanexpress.com/rewards-info); and 1% on all other eligible purchases. Additional terms apply.

Merchants are assigned codes based on what they primarily sell. A purchase will not receive a higher percentage reward if the merchant's code is not eligible. Purchases made through a third-party payment account or on an online marketplace (with multiple retailers) will not receive a higher percentage reward. A purchase may not receive a higher percentage reward if the merchant submits the purchase using a mobile or wireless card reader or if you use a mobile or digital wallet.

Cash back is received in the form of Reward Dollars that can be redeemed as a statement credit. You can only get cash back for eligible purchases.
