American Express is expanding The Centurion Lounge network in major domestic airports, announcing today that it will open its seventh location at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), terminal D. The 8,500 square foot Lounge is currently slated to open in the first half of 2016.
"We set out to create a network of lounges for our Card Members that give them an amazing experience that is head and shoulders above what you typically find in a domestic lounge," said Lisa Durocher, Senior Vice President of Charge Cards and Benefits, American Express. "Houston is another major market for our Card Members and another important step towards expanding our network of lounges from coast to coast."
The Lounge will feature:
- Noise-buffering workspaces, private showers, private phone areas, family room, comfortable seating, a computer bar, tranquility areas and access to high-speed Wi-Fi.
- A complimentary full bar and food buffet will be available to Card Members in the Lounge. More details on the culinary team and specific menu offerings will be available closer to the opening.
"With Houston's growing reputation as a global destination for business and leisure travel, and with international passenger numbers at George Bush Intercontinental Airport increasing at record levels, these types of amenities serve to enhance the experience of the discerning travelers embodied by American Express® Card Members. The Centurion Lounge will align perfectly with our efforts to create a memorable travel experience for passengers at IAH, as they access the almost 200 destinations available via nonstop air service from Houston."
The Centurion Lounge is a network of uniquely designed airport lounges aimed to enhance the travel journey for American Express Card Members. Current locations include Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS), Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Miami International Airport (MIA) and The Centurion Studio in Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).
